Journey to Joy
Week 3
Principle #3: LAUGH OFTEN:

(Recap: Principle #1 – Connect with people, Principle #2 – Be Approachable)

Thankfully, we don’t have to go searching for joy.  As children of God, it is a fruit of the Spirit and He has freely given joy to us (Galatians 5:22).
The Bible teaches that the Almighty has put “gladness” (which includes laughter and joy) in our hearts (Psalm 4:7).
Relax and learn to laugh at yourself.  It’s not only contagious, but scientifically is healing. Laughter releases “good” endorphins in our bodies … they make us healthy!  Remember, “A cheerful heart is good medicine” (Proverbs 17:22).
Research has proven that laughter contributes to lowering your blood pressure, increases endorphins in your body that promote overall good health and mentally gives you a sense of well being.  This is why laughter therapy is being used to treat depression and those with life-threatening illnesses.
If you want to be healthy and happy, look for humor in all circumstances.  Since I actually found a few things to laugh over during my diagnosis of ovarian cancer, I am asking you to look for the lighter side in your life too.  I’m not saying dismiss or deny your circumstances … but I am asking you to look for the joy … the Holy Spirit promises us … it is there!

Dear God, thank you for joy!  A-men.

Questions to ponder:
1-Today are you searching for joy in your life?
2-Are you willing to trust that the Holy Spirit has equipped you with the Fruit of the Spirit – Joy?
3-Can you think of a time that was joyful in your life?
4-Are you willing to reflect upon this time to remember how joyful life is?
5-“WWID” “What will I do” with God’s words to me this week?

Hey my precious friends!  One more principle next week!  I hope you are all doing well!  I’d love to hear from you. Love you all bunches!  Because HE lives, cherie

You have filled my heart with greater joy
